Milde - 25 Studies in Scales and Chords, Op. 24
I decided to create a new, lightly edited version of these Studies for use in my teaching because students kept coming in with the older editions available on IMSLP which have misprints, confusing indications, and outdated notation. While I encourage students to purchase modern editions for their excellent presentation and valuable commentary, financial considerations make this prohibitive for some. So, I decided that being 130+ years old - and fully retaining their instructional and educational value - these Studies deserve a clean, free edition.
I prepared two different versions to give bassoonists a choice depending on how they prefer read these Studies. If you intend to read off a tablet or other electronic device, I recommend the Full Size Version. If you intend to print them, you can choose a version based on how many pages you would like to print. Note that both versions have been formatted to function as booklets, which is why the numbers of pages are multiples of four. This edition is formatted for 9 x 12 size paper (12 x 18 size for booklets), so if you print on 8.5 x 11 (of 11 x 17 for booklets) make sure to click "Fit" or "Shrink oversized pages" so the music will not be cut off. Note that this will reduce the printed size of the music. If you would like a print copy but printing is prohibitively difficult or expensive for any reason, please contact me to request one and if possible I will print and ship it to you.
